Akshay Kumar may have refused to work with Priyanka Chopra in Tees Maar Khan.
While many names including Deepika Padukone is said to have been considered for the role, reports suggest Katrina Kaif, who has been roped in to play the female lead in Farah Khan’s next directorial venture Tees Maar Khan wasn’t the first choice for the role. Farah was initially keen to sign Priyanka Chopra for the role.
Reports suggest that Farah eventually had to settle for Katrina because the lead actor of the film Akshay Kumar wasn’t keen on working with Priyanka. A source close to Farah while confirming these reports said, “Akshay and Farah sat down and had a long chat about whom to cast in the film. Akshay told Farah that it would be best if she could choose someone else instead of Priyanka since he would not be comfortable working with her. Farah agreed because she didn’t want any unnecessary complications during the making of the film.”
Sources further add that Farah was quite disturbed about Akshay’s decision to not work with Priyanka in the film. She even contemplated upon casting a new girl opposite Akshay in the film but eventually found Katrina Kaif suitable for the role because she thought an established actress would do a much better job in this role.
Akshay is said to be uncomfortable with the idea of working with Priyanka because of his alleged closeness to her in the past, which has had an adverse effect on his personal and married life. Akshay hopes that by not working with Priyanka, he will be able to put to rest all such rumors.
So, with Akshay refusing to work with Priyanka in Tees Maar Khan, Farah couldn’t do much about it and eventually had to cast Katrina in the role. Priyanka of course had to miss a big banner movie because of Akshay.
